EDITORIAL POLICY

Ankara Law Review is a new academic refereed journal, published bi-annually, in May and November, by the Ankara University Law School in English.*

With its Board of Advisors, drawn from a large pool of well-known academics and experts in their respective areas, Ankara Law Review is poised to become one of the leading sources of dissemination of knowledge and expertise regarding contemporary legal studies.

The pre-evaluation of all submissions to Ankara Law Review will be performed by the Editorial Board and the submissions that are acceptable will be refereed anonymously by one referee. The Editorial Board will only evaluate the submissions on the basis of the General Principles of Publication. Only the articles in law or articles with an interdisciplinary approach having the main subject as law will be accepted for publication. Moreover, case annotations and book reviews are most welcome.

Notes to Contributors-General Principles of Publication
Ankara Law Review is a refereed academic legal journal. Papers submitted should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. If another version of the paper is under consideration by another publication, or has been, or will be published elsewhere, authors should indicate this clearly at the time of submission.

The journal will be published bi-annually, in May and November. Deadline for submissions is 1st of January and 1st of June respectively.

Each article should be submitted as a Word document, written in 12 font, double space, Times New Roman (footnotes in 10 font, 1,5 space, Times New Roman) via mail or via e-mail to the addresses below. All notes should appear as footnotes and provide full citations. References are unnecessary.

There is no standard length for articles, but 3.000-12.000 words (including footnotes) is a useful target.

The article should begin with an indented summary of around 100 words, in Turkish and English, which should describe the main arguments and conclusions of the article, and 5 key words, in both Turkish and English, indicating to the main themes of the paper.

Details of the author’s institutional affiliation, full address and other contact information should be submitted on a separate cover sheet. Any acknowledgements should be included on the cover sheet, with a note of the exact length of the article (in words).

It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that where copyright materials are included within an article the permission of the copyright holder has been obtained. Confirmation of this should be provided on a separate sheet together with the disk.

Authors are entitled to 1 free copy of the journal including their article and 20 loose leaf copies of their articles.

* Articles in French, German and Italian are also welcome. References in these articles should be made in the original language.

STYLE
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their articles conform to the journal style. The Editors will not undertake retyping of articles before publication.

Particular attention is drawn to the following points:

Spelling: English spelling should be used throughout. Numbers from one to ten should be spelled out, other numbers should be given as numerals. Dates should be in the form April 18, 1999; 1996-99; the 1980s.
Footnotes: They should be numbered consecutively throughout the article, using a raised numeral in the text, to correspond to footnotes.

In the list of footnotes, consistency is most important in references to books, articles and manuscript sources; note that initial capitals are used for all nouns and important adjectives in titles. All of the information shown must be included, depending on the availability.
